"The juxtaposition of inequality in this city is really bothersome to me. You have shops selling $5 lattes placed right across the street from buildings full of people who could never dream of spending money in that way."

A rough recording of one of my favorites.

'Parachute Men'

When the fields take on that color C

Clean and bright and white like snow G

Tucked under a cozy blanket F

Living in a soft, light glow F

And All those men on, Parachutes are There to help the days go by C G F

They are waiting for me, ready to fly C G F G

So I squeeze my eyes shut and make a wish C F

Purse my lips and become the wind C G

And as I watch, I am wondering F C

Where those parachute men go F G

The specs of white soon become the clouds C F

I wish again that they don’t fall down C G

Carrying my heart, flying higher F C

They take the secret of my desire G F

Floating swiftly on a whisper

Making friends with sweet spring air

Watching the world from a distance

Everything is clear from there

Silently they speak your wishes

Hoping someone’s listening

Over all the talk and chitter

Over people arguing

And All those men on, Parachutes don’t Care if your are right or wrong

They just drift together and all listen to your song

So I squeeze my eyes shut and make a wish

Purse my lips and become the wind

And as I watch, I am wondering

Where those parachute men go

The specs of white soon become the clouds

I wish again that they don’t fall down

Carrying my heart, flying higher

They take the secret of my desire

Higher, I wish I could go fly with C Am

Those men who touch the sky and F

Kiss the Earth goodbye cuz Dm

I’d never could leave—

All those men on Parachutes who Float on through without a care

They all clutch your secrets while laughing in the air

So I squeeze my eyes shut and make a wish

Purse my lips and become the wind

And as I watch, I am wondering

Where those parachute men go

The specs of white soon become the clouds

I wish again that they don’t fall down

Carrying my heart, flying higher

They take the secret of my desire
